arquà petrarca

Located in the idyllic area of the Parco Colli Euganei, a protected hillside area in north-eastern Italy, in the medieval village of Arquà Petrarca, stands a villa that welcomes visitors with an informal and familiar flair.
Thanks to a careful restoration process of a former cottage on the top of a hill, the owners enlarged the spaces of the house by adding a new contrasting contemporary volume. Straight but smooth lines are transformed into a cubic structure made of wood, glass and concrete, where the bedroom area unfolds, topped with a panoramic rooftop where to enjoy a scenic view on the surrounding hills.
Solid teak wood furniture with modern and sober shapes found a proper place in this setting, with special attention to the dining table and the lounge chairs on the rooftop, as well as the coffee table and the console, that transformed the corridor into a cosy relax area.
